Calcium K Time Lapses?

Post by dccole9 »

All,

Something I have yet to find are time lapses of Calcium K line images. I'm sure examples are buried somewhere on here. Is a time lapse of Calcium K even worthwhile?

Thanks,
Chris

There are loads of Calcium timelapses here https://stargazerslounge.com/forum/92-imaging-solar/
You need to look at every Kitsunegari post

Yes, those are great, but keep in mind the author uses an advanced double-stacked (IIRC) filter configuration. Results from a "regular" PST CaK or a Lunt CaK module might not be that spectacular (depending on specimen).

Indeed, time-lapsed imaging can be very useful, whether as seconds, minutes, hours, days etc apart, in either Ha or CaK.
Particularly good when flares occur as prominences captured with Calcium-K.

Thanks guys.

I just finished putting together a setup that would allow me to finally record the three most common wavelengths simultaneously. Of course, now that everything is in order, the forecast is calling for rain throughout the weekend.
