Nov 7th Prominence

Post by RKBerta »

Had decent weather today so got a bunch of images. Only processed one thus far due to limited time. Was a nice detailed prominence with lots of sharp resolution details. I combined the Prominence with the Chromosphere image in PS. Excuse the topic title....it isn't the Corona ;-) Tried to correct topic title but couldn't do it without deleting the post.
This was with Coronado 60mm Etalon single stacked with the BF30 both older US built camera is a Player One Neptune mono camera. It has the Sony 178 chip and on board 256 DDR. Mount is an Ioptron ALT/AZ cube pro. Telescope is a 80mm APO Officina Stellare.

The moderators may be able to help you correct the post. That prom is very bright in your image. Certainly brighter than I saw it visually today. What time did you take the image? It looks a fair amount different that it did when I observed it.

James....that was taken on Nov 7th at 12:30pm in Michigan USA. There were two images....one for prominence and another for Chromosphere....combined both but could have lightened Chromosphere part so better balance. I am new at this so still getting it figured out. I was mostly trying to get the faint bits of the prominence that are above the brighter part and pulling away. The prominence was pretty bright through the 60mm Ha Coronado single stack etalon equipped 80mm Officina Stellare APO refractor. The visual image was bright and those fine lines of the prominence coming from the sun were quite fine and well defined.

Thanks for your comments...by the way the moderators did fix the title mistake for me :D
