Nov 5 2021 - 5/5 Seeing

Post by Simon2940 »

Over the weekend I was at a Star Party in Borrego Springs, Ca. On the morning of Nov 5th, We had 5/5 seeing for about 2 hours and I scrambled to setup my 150mm scope with the Daystar Gemini. Needless to say, what I experienced was jaw dropping!

Simon, did you ever look through the scope visually to see how much you could see by eye?

Amazing details and sharpness Simon!
Congratulations!
How is it possible that one of the two proms is kind of blurry and the other crystal clear?
I suppose this was its nature and not due to the way it reached your scope through the atmosphere.
Congratulations for the SPOD!

Best wishes,
Alexandros

From what i understand, one is closer and the other is further back. I've had that happen a few times. Ive even gotten ones that are just blur regardless, depends on the viewing angle.
