Sunshine 21st November 2021

Post by Montana »

Beautiful sunshine today so was able to observe the Sun for about 2 hrs from the bedroom window. It looked like two bright spots at the foot points of the large filament so I was hoping for a lift off but it never came. Maybe later?

Imaged with the DS Halpha PST and CaK PST and the ASI174 / 2x Barlow

I could not see the filament in CaK. Apologies for the dust bunny in the CaK which is repeated in both panes zipped together, I spotted it in the Halpha so that is corrected.

I must be blind Alexandra, as I can't see any "Dust Bunnies" in your captures.

Perhaps you could point-out where it/they are hiding please ?? :o

There are two obvious dark pimples on the right hand side, these are not dark patches in CaK :(

These look good Alexandra, despite the dust bunnies which I would have thought were a part of the image if you would have not mentioned them. And those southern filaments really show up dark in your Ha images.

Thanks for completing " my " set! ;-)

Nice and neat FD's. Judging by today's photos, the filament continues to delight us.

Great disks Alexandra, glad the bedroom observatory paid off. I was busy yesterday afternoon so missed the sun (but got the moon instead!).
