Post by arnedanielsen »

Dear friends,

Today's FD images in H-Alpha and CaK taken at a solar altitude of 9 degrees. Hazy skies and poor seeing. :-(

FD image in H-Alpha using a Coronado 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ASI 178mm mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.

Excellent set of captures Arne and with your Solar-viewing so low in the sky.

Well done

Hi Arne, great FD. You do wonders with such a low Sun. I went to your Astrobin page, and saw a close-up from September 8th, I think I missed it on Solarchat. This is a great photo, wow! Did you shoot it through the quark?

Thank you very much Eric, Ivan, Stu and Mark!

Ivan: Yes, those images are captures with a DayStar Quark H-Alpha Chromosphere model attached to an Explore Scientific AR152 refractor.
