30 Nov Full Disk both positive and negative

Post by minhlead »

Finally, I have fixed the last problems that plagued my full disk (the halo around the sun due to internal reflection). The dark-light gradient now looks smooth. Though I still see some part of the disk has blurred detail. Probably not seeing since I see this problem in every shot that I took this morning in the same spot. Is it possible that the low contrast region of the Quark caused this (the blurred region also are the low contrast due to etalon inhomogeneity).
Here is my 2 version of the full disk both in positive and inverted with colorization.
I'd like to hear your opinions.

Thanks Minh for your renditions, particularly showing the number of proms today

Cheers

Wow! the inverted really sings :bow :hamster:

Can you show a single pane to see where the blurred bit is? I am not sure where in the full disc are the problems in relation to each pane.

This is single panel shot. I used a 2 inches reducer to get the FD to fit into my tiny 174 chip with my Quark. But as I said in my latest post, it seems I am taking too long exposure at 2ms. 0.5ms work much better with less blurred detail so I think I'd stick with shorter exposure time for now.

I do love the inverted, especially when colorized. The proms show up much more naturally on inverted. But positive have higher contrast IMO.
