NEAF 2014

Post by Bill E. »

Stephen,
I would like to volunteer to help out at NEAF this year. I'm available all weekend. Would prefer outside help, but willing to help in any way.
Bill

Hey Bill!

NEAF was unwilling to allow for any expenses for me to come up there with my equipment so I won't be bringing it. Im supposed to give a lecture and demo Lunt scopes outside so if you want to hang with me or watch it while Im lecturing I would love the company! :)

I'll be there and could bring some scopes. I was thinking mainly of bringing the Sun Funnel, since there will be plenty of PSTs and Lunts.

I brought my Sun Funnel, which appears about 2:10 in this video]. I thought my little DIY project would get ignored in the midst of all the shiny high-tech scopes, but I attracted a great deal of attention. The ATMers liked it for its simplicity and el cheapo elegance, the outreach folks liked it for its accessibility, including at least one fellow who said he was going to make one of his own after seeing mine, and the public liked it because the could see the sunspots immediately, and DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE.

Alll in all, a very fun event and it was great to me Stephen in person.

Hi Willie

great video report, fine funnel scope.

What is best to be used as a screen foil at the end of the scope ?
