CBSAP at the Hertsmonceux Astronomy Festival

CBSAP will be represented and will be doing outreach at the Hertsmonceux astronomy festival, based no less than the Royal Greenwich Observatory. Myself and Gary Palmer will be there all weekend, and will have a CBSAP stall courtesy of Steve Collingwood of SCTelescopes http://sctelescopes.com/

In addition forum member Rupert of Astrograph http://astrograph.net/ is also sponsoring us to attempt the worlds largest solar image - a mosaic of absolutely huge proportions - stay tuned!

There are lectures throughout the weekend from a variety of famous faces including Dr Lucie Green, Nik Symanek and forum member Pete Lawrence...

In addition:
Grand opening on Friday evening with keynote speaker Professor Donald Lynden-Bell
5 lectures on Saturday
5 lectures on Sunday
Talks about the telescopes in Dome E
Viewing through the historic telescopes (weather permitting)
Viewing through smaller telescopes with amateur astronomy societies (weather permitting)
Amateur Radio Group of Sussex - see below
Planetarium shows
Sketching the Sun and Moon with Sally Russell - see below
Interactive science activities with SEPnet (University of Sussex) - see below
Interactive activities with the South Downs National Park Authority - see below
Trade stands
Astronomy Societies
Solar Observing
Rocket Launching (Sunday ONLY)
Pub Quiz with SCTelescopes (Saturday Evening)
Spectacular science exhibits
Raffles on both main event days with fabulous prizes donated by the sponsors and trade stalls
Grand Prize Raffle Draw to win a Meade ETX125 Telescope rrp £699 (Sunday)
Beer tent :)
Food and refreshments

Thanks Stu and Walter. Getting excited for this now, all the equipment is sat ready for me to pack up in the car when I get back from work tomorrow then we head down south for the event...

Thanks Walter. Definitely a dome, that's the small one! Today is going to be busy, lovely sunny skies, yesterday was cloudy till 30 mins before the festival closed...
