Herstmonceux Observatory Scope Donation

Post by solarchat »

After getting soundly whipped by the now famous Alexandra's solar images at the Royal Observatory, we all went to the Herstmonceux Observatory outside of London and did what we do best, give away stuff..
I gave the observatory an original Isle of Man Coronado 90mm Doublestacked H-ALpha scope. This class of children happened to be there so we put it on an obviously too small of a mount and did some impromptu outreach....
Thanks Astronomy four Fun, Mark Townley and Gary Palmer for making this all happen on site.!

It is amazing how you attract kids anywhere you go :) I just couldn't stop smiling at these pictures, they are fabulous :bow :bow :bow

Stephen, I think you do much better than me, what are useless photographs compared with creating smiles like that!

Fantastic stuff! This was the best place for the scope to go in the end.
