Came upon these old slides, thought it might be fun to share!
And the equipment used, my first 6" telescope I made at age 15, one of my sons in the photo, being trained on how fun astronomy is!

Ah, I remember the 6" I built at about the same time, plywood tube, mount made from a car half-shaft...............................

Good old video camera technology. How things have moved on. We take so much for granted these days with our lap-tops, cameras and high quality image capture and processing software.

Everything has changed- the telescope, the hair (what hair?!, LOL), the boy (now a man doing well)... but not my love for studying the Sun!
