CBSAP IN ACTION. CUPCAKE CONSPIRACY MERRIMACK NH 7-7-16

Post by James0057 »

SUNTASTIC ! A new event here in NH on vacation. Had some good foot traffic & lots of folks around that came by to check out the SUN today. Even tho Sunspot activity was non existent I still enjoyed sharing the SUN with a lot of people. I meant Neal a great astronomy enthusiast who left & brought back his 3 sons ! He invited me next year to his towns July 4th celebration ! My friend Lisa the cupcake shop owner was excited as well over solar Astronomy ! I going to try a repeat of the weather is good. As always thx for looking & comments Welcomed ! Clear Skies !

very nice work, if we all don't work to turn the next generation into not-morons then we are all screwed!

i have to ask...is that a 152 and an 80 on an avx mount? you must be very brave if so, what kind of weights do you have on it, and what is between the saddle and telescopes to allow for both to be connected?

i never had my 152 on anything but a cgemdx, i was scared it would tip over the avx.

Hey RX, this is the original mount Stephen donated to me with the LS152. The mount had a dual ADM Accessories mount hardware on it. Yesit can easily handle both of these scopes. I have to lift this mount with both hands putting it on the tripod. I have a Celestron Vx as well which i use usually for my 80HA with the imager. I can lift the vx with one hand no problem. I try to keep the 152 & 60 as low as possible to allow the kids easy viewing, most adults don't mind bending over. Stephen suggested a triple mount plate but thats a few more bucks. Ive been using this setup for awhile now and feel very comfortable with it.. Thx for your kind comments RX Clear Skies !
