I'll try to clean my slit, but can you explain how you treat those pictures for the line, 'cause as already discussed FFT was not enought good....

Dear DSobserver,

I wrote a document about my experience using Photoshop to process the SHG images, you may find it in the library of the forum.
Here is the band removed version, hope you like it.

waouuuuhhh wahhhh!!!!!

Looks great!

But now I've a new issue : this morning I try to clean the slit with pressure air and a wooden tooth stick. Dark line desapeare, but clear one appear! It probably come from the fact that dark line were probably coming from pieces of metal on the slit that I remove....

Image

Did you ever try to polish your slit from surplus shed? Any recommendation?

I didn't try to polish the slit because I am afraid of making it worse.
I just use a tooth stick to try to remove a much dust as I can.
By using the artificial flat field, the horizontal bands can be removed quite well.

I don't have Photoshop...Do you know if GIMP or imageJ can do it?

The procedures should be similar, just need layer mask + blending operations and division between 2 pictures.

I think GIMP should do the job.

However last December Adobe released for free the CS2 version of Photoshop.

Alex, Wah and Vincent:

I doubt that Photoshop CS2 has a "divide" blending mode. I have CS4 which doesn't have this feature. ImageJ has a versatile "image calculator" function which allows you to load two images and subtract, divide, etc. I've had varying success with it, partly because I don't have Wah's finesse in treating the images!

Peter.

Peter,
Can you find divide function in "apply image" in CS4?
