03Jul2014 PZ SHG: 2nd installment: Ca H Disks

Post by p_zetner »

Here is my 2nd "haul" from the 03July observing session.

The Ca H3 image at 0.14 Angstroms bandpass compared with a Ca H line centre image at 0.5 Angstroms. Not too much difference. The filaments may be slightly more visible in the H3 image and the spots more visible in the "wideband" image.

A comparison of the red wing (r) and blue wing (v) H1 images. I think some flaring is more apparent on the blue wing image, sensible if you consider the flare launching gas towards us.

Cheers.
Peter.

These are excellent Peter! I'm continually impressed with the images you get from your spectroscope...
