Well done!
A bit more practise and you'll be kicking goals.....
Stick with the narrow slit gap...
Get the exposure to give you a deep absorption line, keep checking your focus and play around with the extraction of various bandwidths (# of pixels) from the spectral image.
You may also have to throw a light proof cover over the SHG to reduce unwanted reflections etc.
Onwards and Upwards.

Sure, it can be cleaned with alcohol/water mix....
The scan lines won't be coming from the slit gap - usually dust etc. will show as continuous "transversalium" lines across the image...
