July was a pretty quiet month in terms of space weather, as we know from the reduced numbers of sunspots we've all noticed through our observations. In fact there was only one CME this month and this came from a collapsing large filament which crashed under gravity back into the photosphere, releasing as it impacted a Hyder Flare and CME. This was not Earth directed and instead brushed past us on July 23rd.
Other mildly geoeffective solar weather events arose from fast flowing solar wind emanating from coronal holes, which appeared at times throughout the month.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

A super summary Stu very quiet indeed but then it was too light to enjoy any aurora anyway

Re: July 2015 magnetic summary
Hi Derek,
There was quite a surge late on July 13th.
Here's the data from a magnetometer in France for the 13th. Probably a gust of solar wind.

Re: July 2015 magnetic summary
Hi Stu,
What sort of sensor equipment would one need to record such data?
I have built a weather station around a raspberry PI.
http://drgert.dyndns.ws:8000/rpi/bmp085/bmp085.php
Similar ideas could be realized with magnetic sensors if those are accurate enough and readily available.
Thanks,
Gert
