April 30 Spectroheliograms

Post by p_zetner »

Greetings Everyone.

Amidst finishing up my Mercury transit images, I thought I'd post these spectroheliograms from April 30.
I have some more processing to do and hope to add some more images in the next few days.

Cheers.
Peter.

Interesting to see such a wide range of wavelengths Peter.
Thanks for sharing the results of your experiments.

These are excellent Peter, really illustrates well the difference when not 'on band' on these spectral lines.

Once again Peter, excellent results well presented.
Have you tried John's synthetic flat fielding process available in the latest BASS Project release?

Cheers and thanks for the comments, everyone.

Ken: I see you noticed that the spectroheliograms are a little lacking with regard to uniformity! I'd be interested in the flat-fielding process you're referring to. Can you direct me to a description of it?

Peter.

Peter,
The BASS Project software is available for download from the BASS Yahoo group (I can't seem to provide a link on the iPad) The latest instruction manual details John's synthetic flat fielding process.
Hope that helps.
Ps It's also fully explained with examples in the new book.
