Nothing hugely impressive this month as the Sun continues to head towards solar minimum. AR2661 started off with a few pops and crackles, but fizzled away with no more than a few very minor and hardly geoeffective flares. The solar wind accounted for most of the activity this month, such that it was. There were no storms greater than G1 and in some cases the effects were so weak that the resulting aurorae were only apparent through photography, being far too weak to be seen by the naked eye.
Inset images SDO/AIA and Alan Dyer.
I hope you find this stuff interesting.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Good work
Example of a non active period
Has its use
Even if nothing more than to act as a baseline for comparison

Re: June geomagnetic summary 2017
A thorough summary of a rather quiet month, Stu.
Thanks for the explanation of the physical processes forming the bumps and wiggles in your tracing!
Cheers.
Peter.
