Geomagnetic Storm

Post by Carbon60 »

A geomagnetic storm is underway (at the time of writing, 14th Sept 19:53 UT). Solar wind from a coronal hole has arrived, sparking a G2 solar storm, no doubt producing beautiful aurora around the poles.

The geomagnetic storm continued through the night. (Note Kp6 not Kp8 posted in error previously), so no doubt there were excellent aurorae for those lucky enough to be in the right place.....not here though. :(
