Further geomagnetic activity 21st-23rd Nov.

Post by Carbon60 »

Hi all,

Here are my geomagnetic activity data for the past three days indicating a protracted period of geomagnetic unrest with the sprawling coronal hole continuing to have an impact on Earths magnetic environment. At least two pulses of southerly magnetised solar wind with speeds in excess of 550 km/s have sped past Earth with a possible third in progress according to NOAA data and the continuing geomagnetic unrest recorded on my chart. Maybe an okay night for aurora watching if you're lucky enough to be in the right place with clear skies?

As always, thanks for looking.

Good capture of the event there Stu. Looks like there have been plenty of sightings looking around on FB, sadly i'm not one of them! Just cloud and rain here, listening to LPs, solar is on pause until better weather returns...

Lovely data coming through Stuart, looks like all is well with the kit now. Spaceweather says a new coronal hole has opened so I guess there may be plenty of aurora activity to come.
