Further Geomagnetic Unrest 21st 23rd Jan 2020

Post by Carbon60 »

Hi Folks,

Here are some data showing further geomagnetic unrest during January as the magnetic field carried by the solar wind turned south periodically these past three days. The event gave rise to bright aurora and produced geomagnetic effects easily detected on magnetometers around the globe, including my own operated from here in the UK.

No chance of seeing any aurora from here with the weather, but some of you in the more norther or southern regions of our planet might have been luckier. I'd be interested to know.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Nice to see your data on the unrest that triggered the aurora that was reported on SpaceWeater earlier.

Well done :bow

Nice to see you picked this up Stuart :bow :hamster: terrible weather here for a week with fog and drizzle. Amazing how a Monday morning brings sunshine ;)
