Magnetometer data May 2020

Post by Carbon60 »

Hi all,

May produced some interesting opportunities for solar imaging with occasional large bright proms and a few active regions. However, in terms of geoeffective activity things have been extraordinarily quiet, as you'll see from my monthly data below.

There were no strong outbursts of any type during the month. The solar wind was only occasionally 'gusty' (more breezy really) causing minimal geomagnetic impact. Hopefully things will pick up in the coming months :)

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

That's got to be the flattest graph i've seen from you Stu. A very quiet month indeed, I suppose from here activity can only increase.

I think that is the quietest graph you have ever shown, I wonder if that means anything?

Hi Stu.
That trace is almost spectacular in its lack of activity!
Have you tried fresh batteries? 😄
Cheers.

Thanks, Mark, Alexandra and Peter.

Yes, a very quiet month from a geomagnetic viewpoint.

Ha..ha, good one, Peter.
