More CME activity than in previous months confirms an uptick in solar activity as cycle 25 continues to develop. No major storms as yet, but watch this space.....
Here are my data for May
The general upward trend is more apparent comparing this year (so far) with last year over the same period. Here I've calculated a running average in order to smooth out the results in order to make the trend more apparent. This also captures seasonal variations around the equinoxes where even minor events can have a greater effect than would normally be the case. We should expect to see more powerful storms and more frequent storms as the cycle matures over the coming years. Hopefully I'll gather the data during this cycle if my equipment survives.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.
