Hi,
According to the predictions today in the morning at 07:00 hours local time there should have been the peak of the Leonids.
Here the result of 3 stations. One in the USA and 2 in Mexico. Not very much detected activity compared to previous days.

Re: Leonids 2021
Thanks Rainer. I think this year's 'event' was particularly weak. I've had some issues with my detector which keeps freezing/locking up, so I don't have any reliable data myself.

Re: Leonids 2021
Hi Alexandra,
No, I did not see any as I did not look out of the window
BTW, the sky has gotten terrible due to the new installed LED street lamps. Look at the statistics from the website. from 34.8 up to 74.4
I see it now when I make my All Sky imagin over the whole nicght. Same exposure settings and it is overexposed.

oh dear
LED lamps are great for preserving a dark sky (downward facing) and saving the planet (climate change) but you can't filter it out like sodium

Re: Leonids 2021
Hi,
The problem here is they did use LED with a temperature of more then 4000°K and not even sunlight but blue light instead of using less then 3000°K and warm light.
The politicians in Mexico think the more illuminated the less criminality. Exactly the opposite is happening as now the burglars even do not need flash lights anymore. The way is fully illuminated.
They are just plain stupid ...
¿ Climate change ? Yes but a lot of people living from this hoax as climate has changed during hundred of thousands of years on this planet and IMHO it is not man made again IMHO ...
Sorry ... RANT over ...
regards Rainer

Good results RAiner, I can see how radio will help with rising light pollution like that.

Re: Leonids 2021
Hi all,
My Leonid results for this year seem to agree with everyone else. Only had the system running for the week of the "maximum", and barring a splurge of activity in the early hours of the 15th, seem to show a "maximum" occurring in the early hours of the 20th. Interesting to see that Stan Nelson shows a similar uptick on the 15th, although slightly later in UT than for me.
Heat map and graph below.
Regards to all,
Les

Re: Leonids 2021
Good information guys.
I think I've resolved my detector issues using a new male/female USB A lead. The old one must have been a tiny bit loose giving rise to sporadic outages. Assuming the thing will now keep running, I should be okay from now on, which is good news with the Geminids coming up in December.
Wish me luck.
