What do you mean,,,,,,is it when you try to insert the 1.25" end of the Quark into your 1.25" diagonal it won't fit.

I have that problem trying to fit mine to my Baader diagonal but if I twist it anti clockwise it will slide in.

To remove it I unscrew it the same way and pull it out as I turn it, If I screw it clockwise it will unscrew the barrel of the Quark.

Hi John

nice pics. Maybe some sanding paper helps

Looking good :P

I'm hoping to combine my Quark with a Lunt 100 (when it arrives) so I'm very interested in your experiments.

Walter -I can do that BUT would it violate warranty?
I would need permission from Daystar

I took blocking filter out of Lunt
replaced with normal 2 inch diagonal
put .6 reducer at bottom of quark
put quark in diagonal
quark has its own blocking filter (two blocking filters would be to dark)

Barlowing is reduced to 2.58 (similar to TV barlow 2.5)

My thought was having a Post(after the internal) etalon to do double stacking
this method is cheaper since you dont need to buy a full aperture etalon
and you still have the full resolution

how much would a full 100mm Lunt etalon cost -mmm?

Hi John

fine additions.

I don't think Daystar would argue to loose warranty on the optics and the etalon while gently sanding down the nose piece

Strange the 1.25" nosepiece doesn't fit the scope???

It must be either a bit off spec, or damaged (dent, compressed, etc) and no longer a proper circular shape. I have not seen one of these, but I'd contact Daystar and see if the nosepiece can be replaced without sending the whole thing back.

just a thought,
Brian

The Quark I have won't fit a couple of my 1.25" diagonals either (Tal and cheap Skywatcher) but it does fit the 1.25" adaptors on my Equinox, Lunt and Antares 2" diagonals - weird?

There's an article about this on CN, daystar is saying the 1.25" fitting is out of spec.

Nice images. Curious about the 1.25" fitting beingout of spec. Seems to be such a standard component it is odd to get that wrong.I have had a similar issue with a 2x TeleXtender from Meade. Several camera nosepieces simply won't fit. Most annoying

daystar is sending me a new replacement snout
that will end that issue

daystar Quark = when it work works nice
it can be a bit temperamental
its is very sensitive to tilt and F/num

Dear All,

I am new to this forum. I am thinking to mod my WO 81mm GT APO with my Lunt 60 mm H-ALpha. Is it possible? Request for your kind guidance.

Hi Parag, and welcome to the site. What is the F ratio of the WO 81mm, and is it a LS60T scope or a Front mounted LS60F Etalon.Mods have been done with the LS60 scopes and there are a few threads in this section regarding it.

Hi Parag,

welcome to the forum. Best to start a new topic on your mod idea as it's different to this one and will generate lots of questions.
