I made prom viewer a while back similar to Thousand oaks HAU type
I was given a Skybender filter tilting unit
my first use is to replace my home made filter tilting unit
The skybender unit is easier to use
you simply twist(turn) outer part which causes filter to tilt
it is smoother than my unit which you must turn two screws up and down
here is a picture showing all parts - except ERF

Re: upgrade to my home made HAU
you unscrew top (eyepiece part)
screw in filter - put top back on
then turn left or right the blue body until filter has proper tilt
(you will see prom come into view and you keep turning until it start to fade
then turn back opposite direction until prom is at brightest point

Hi John
a fine replacement.
@Mark the skybender as such works perfect. I have not yet found an improvement using my filters with tilt, compared to the square way. I guess most filters are designed to be used square
