Mersenne telescope design
Mersenne telescope design
I've been thinking about this combination in my head. Would a Mersenne telescope in front with a h-alpha scope in the back attached achieve a higher resolution? Or would it be similar to just having an h-alpha telescope with an ERF that does not block as much energy allowing in more light?

Re: Mersenne telescope design
I have considered this as well. There is a good discussion on the Mersenne design here:

There is significant potential field angle magnification and greatly exacerbated off-axis aberrations due to the secondary objective's inability to perform optimally with the magnified field angles. Therefore the Mersenne likely would be useful only for narrow fields of view.Would a Mersenne telescope in front with a h-alpha scope in the back attached achieve a higher resolution?
