Tracking the sun MY way :)

Post by skyhawk »

I don't have an EQ mount, and at the moment I have no use for one BUT it is a pain using the knobs etc to follow the Sun whilst trying to image with white light on the SCt and Quark on the Refractor feeling for them so.............................

NO not to track, just to push button follow instead of keep trying to find the knobs on the mount you hold the control box and press a button whilst viewing.

Been ordering various parts from Amazon, again I am no electrician but it is fun I could NOt find the boxes I needed to house the motors then I finally came across whatever guitar stomp boxes are and have two coming.

So far I am enjoying the work, I even got a vice off Amazon for £8 that should have been £28 they had the wrong price on it

They will fit in a similar way to the esprit focusser shown I made last month but in a sealed box

This way I can keep looking at the Sun and follow it with a simple push of a button, variable speed forward and reverse

Just for info, if I ever come over as "blunt" or upset it is not intentional, I am AUTISTIC, I have Aspergers, and ADHD, Autism, so my apologies if I ever sound, unintentionally confrontational. Thank you
