PST 'Combat'

Post by AndiesHandyHandies »

Hi

I have removed my PST etalon from the black box.

Replaced the front collimator lens with the Omega Bobs 25mm 40nm ERF, tilted. Stops far IR the Baader 35nm does not and has less reflection than the Baader. I have used it on its own at 127mm. Use with a Baader 2" UV-IR filter in front for spreading heat rejection. And Lunt110 DERF for up to 95mm F10 with my 127mm F7.5 Triplet refractor for normal seeing levels with stops.

Replaced the rear re-focussing lens with a KG1 cover slip.

In order to have the PST and two double stacked Omega Bobs 25mm H-alpha solid 1.5A filters in a collimated beam, will using doublet collimator and re-focussing lenses give me a better longer 'collimated beam' than the singlet PST lenses. I need another 200mm of collimated beam at a minimum to allow reflections of double tilted Bobs H-alpha filters to drift out of the field.

Rod has used one of Bobs H-alpha filter with the PST Combat as the Comb Blocking filter. The PST looks like 0.7A on Daystars site and with the tilted the Bobs Comb Blocker as well looks like 0.5A.

Rod bought a UV meter and there are negligible values coming out of the set up.

Andrew

Hi

We had first view with the 2x ED barlowed 127mm and Double Stacked with two 1.5A Omega Bobs filters.

Local seeing not good.

But promising.

Andrew.
