solarscout DS60 open heart operation

Post by banjo »

hello,
given the mediocre time here, I started to dismantle the DS60 solarscout and make a 31.5mm adaptation.
Nothing standard to fix the Quark on a telescope Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great !!! the PL1m camera has just the right size (58mm), I cut the bottom and fix 3 screws at 120 °.

a visual test with the 80/400 telescope in the clouds it works, just wait for good weather to test with the 150mm.

Hi Paul,
I understand your frustration: the retention groove and the tapered end are bothersome.
Excellent work in finding a viable solution with the materials at hand

In my case I fabricated an adapter using a 60mm 2" extension tube connected to the etalon by means of a "clamshell" coupling.

If you are interesed and have access to a 3D printer I am more than happy to share the 3D model.

Cheers

Fabio
