Some Eclipse pics.
It was so wonderful to share the eclipse experience with Alexandra, Mark, friends Janet and John and our better halves in Oregon yesterday. The weather was absolutely glorious and really could not have been better; wall to wall sunshine across a wonderful panorama of farmland. We arrived before sunrise and watched the dawn break over the distant hills in the east, the sky bathed in a beautiful golden glow.
I set up with my lightweight 72mm f6 refractor fitted with a Lunt B600 CaK module and Basler acA1920-155um IMX174 camera with 1.5x Barlow and imaged the encroachment of the moon over the solar disk which was peppered with impressive sunspot regions AR 2671 and 2672. During totality I boosted the gain and slowed the fps to capture solar proms and beads in CaK.

I also set up my DSLR for a wider view of the event. Here's a still image during totality.

Wow! Stu these are amazing, especially the CaK proms during totality, I never realised you could see that and I love the scenic eclipse shot but I can't get the animation to work it might be my very slow connection.
It was a wonderful experience and couldn't have been done without your hard work, thank you

Super shots, the Baily beads and proms in CaK are very good.
Thanks for sharing,

Re: Some Eclipse pics.
Many thanks everyone.
Alexandra, I was pushing my luck with the CaK proms and didn't really expect much. It was a total surprise that I managed to image anything.
Eric, Baily's beads were a nice (surprising) bonus.

CaK Proms at totality! Don't think I've ever seen an eclipse photo done that way -- very nice!!!

Hi!
I am glad you got such glorious weather and setting. The pictures turned out great and it's the first time I see CaK proms.

Re: Some Eclipse pics.
Excellent job there Stu! I love the colour of the horizon at totality, it looked eerie! Super shots! My animation production is going slow - need to account for field rotation and also subtle change in image size (a 'loose' zoom lens!), getting there though.
