Full disk 18-10-2020
Hi,
Sunny in the morning and here the discs.
Now AR 12775 is putting on a show compared to AR 12776.
In White light easy visible two pores on AR 12775 and AR 12776 developed a nice spot divided in three with its Penumbra. Looking at it rememberred me a Yeti but a melting one
and today's Pareidolia bonus " Yeti is melting " or for some more warm hearted souls " It is Santa "

More yeti than Santa. :-) Looking at the west AR, looks like it could be a sunspot.

Indeed Dan, you have captured a new AR as (2777) in the far SW, so just a short time to image it more...

Re: Full disk 18-10-2020
I thought AR12775 had vanished from the disc. I haven't noticed it in a couple of days. Could it be something new?

Hi,
Just looked into Solar Region Summary and the bright Sun spot is AR 12775.

Look at the coordinates South 23 West 88

Re: Full disk 18-10-2020
WoW. It's still on the limb. It still shows up on SolarMonitor too.
I did see it today but did not recognise it as AR12775.

Re: Full disk 18-10-2020
Absolutely fabulous images Rainer (as always you are a grand master )
I was also confused with this active region. Yesterday on the SolarMonitor images this region is labelled as AR12775, from the 19th October images are labelled as AR12777. I am not sure whether this is an error or whether the region has been renamed?

Interesting but as far as I can judge but image from the 16th is missing the AR 12775 necer really disappeared so I do think that is incorrect.
Now we have to ask who is right and who is wrong from that huge amount of Sun sites ...

Re: Full disk 18-10-2020
Same Here. All confused. But we know it's there whatever it is!!
The first shows 2 areas. The second one. My theory is another AR developed right behind 12775 confusing things.

Re: Full disk 18-10-2020
Hi,
Interesting and yes now Solar Region Summary puts an AR12777 there too with the coordinates South 24° and West 77° which is 11° earlier then what they reported yesterday and in their list AR 12775 disappeared which is logical as it is now behind the limb at maybe 88° +15° = one day rotation angle ...
So I guess from the brightness what I caught yesterday was AR 12777 ... ¿?
Sorry no discs today as it is cloudy ...
