Sonification of the Aurora Borealis

Further to our discussion on this month's video call, here's a link to something I did in collaboration with a guy in Tromso, Norway about 10 years ago when we merged his video animation of the aurora with my magnetometer data recorded in the UK. For this I converted my magnetometer output into sounds via MIDI using music production software (Steinberg). I could have selected any one of a hundred instruments, but selected a wind sound as it seemed most appropriate.

Anyhow, here's the resulting video. I hope you like it:
