Keith Tillotson (Tillibobs)

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but Keith has passed away Jan 31st / Feb 1st and was laid to rest on 22nd Feb.

I visited him last October and he was in fine form we swapped some scopes and mounts, eyepieces etc because his viewing needs had changed but otherwise he was fighting that cancer and continuing on like the stubborn old begger he was.

Keith has been an instrumental driver of solar astronomy with a smaller audience on another group but also was an active member here in years gone past. His particular skill was in creating a safe space for beginners to ask and receive advice from himself and other more experienced solsearchers. It is there I started to learn about the sun and was guided by his group before becoming firm friends with all concerned.

That is so sad to hear Fraser, my deepest sympathy to his family and friends

It is always so sad when we hear of the loss of those who genuinely care about sharing the hobby with others. He is now free and back with our star.
