March 23rd Set

Post by MapleRidge »

Good day everyone...

This weekend has been clear and glad for it since there is such good activity to image on our star!

I ran a series of FD images with all the filters with the ASI1600MM camera for all. Images through WL, G-Band and CaK filters were imaged through the Orion EON130 OTA. The WL used the Lunt Solar Wedge and Baader Continuum filter:

The G-band 430nm (2nm) filter was used with a modified Lunt Solar Wedge that has no built in ND filters, and the scope was stopped to 100mm:

For the CaK image, the scope was stopped to 100mm and the Lunt B1800CaK module was used:

The Ha FD image was taken through the Lunt LS80T/LS75FHa/B1800Ha solar scope and a 1.6x barlow was mounted ahead of the camera:

I setup the DS mod on the Orion scope to image the main features in greater detail. I used the ASI462MM camera and 1.6x barlow for the balance of the images:

You got a lovely set of images there Brian. I'd consider a 60mm mask for the cak disk, I think you will get quite a bit more contrast yet.

Great set of images Brian, we are missing all the action on the eastern side of Australia due to heavy cloud cover and rain.
