CaK FD floating prom & another bash at processing
Hi all,
I was lucky to catch this FD image on a windy Tuesday! I love the floating prom on the western limb, which I've seen some of you have caught in h alpha already. Fun to watch the bright crackles in the active regions between gusts and also notice a single bright spot in what has become 3664. I positioned my friend Elvira (the ghost) on the NNE limb which was the best spot to try to get the proms on the western and eastern limbs. With colour added and a square crop (only just found the button for that!) she doesn't seem to steal the show quite so much! It's definitely a compromise drawing out the brightness of the proms and keeping the disc a decent colour. Positioning Elvira at the top is somehow tricking my eye that 'sunshine' is pouring over the top of and from behind the sun rather than an unsightly blemish... or is it just wishful thinking?!
Best wishes,
Nic

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Yes, Elvira the ghost in the comic play Blithe Spirit is described as ‘wilful and temperamental’. I think she’s quirky and therefore (to put a positive spin on the situation) could be fun to have around to keep things interesting!
