Pedro, I didn't think you used ZWO cameras much. I thought you preferred the FLIR Point Grey CCD cameras.

I think you would do excellent images no matter what you used. :-)

Thanks James & alexandra

I prefer CCD cameras. I use PGR/FLIR cameras in almost all my imaging sessions. However I also have a few ZWO ASI cameras (290MC, 174MM, 1600MM)

The later are a good match for the Daystar Quark (with flat field correction)

I hear that the CCD have less noise than the CMOS do.

Nice results (and setup as well for that matter), Pedro.

Looks like you have a good Quark.

Thanks again guys

I use CCDs in almost all my imaging sessions. CCDs have many advantages but soon we all will be using CMOS cameras

Is the issue of a global shutter vs rolling shutter important? The old CCD's typically had global shutter, as does the (now mature) ASI 174MM.

I still use the old ATIK 460EX for monochrome deep sky. The dark noise is basically zero, unlike all but the best and most modern CMOS. I actually also like that the sensor size has a relatively square ratio of 5/4.
