Camera shy jumping spider.

Post by steveward53 »

From my usual 93,000,000 miles away to a slightly closer target , he wouldn't stand still for me and decided to hide away ...

The tile is 6" x 6" and he was in the crack in the little yellow box above it ... ;)

Hi Steve,

Well done. If I remember well you bought a 100mm lens. Especially due to that reason what I call "respect distance" I bought a 180mm Macro lens for imaging insects long ago.

Thank you.

Yes it was the Laowa 100mm F/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO , that has a standoff of about 80mm at closest x2 focus distance.

Hi,

Yes, that is the problem. My Macro lens at 1:1 has a distance of 60cm.

He lives in the summerhouse where I reside whilst imaging , I only spotted him today as he was doing 'parkour' across my laptop as I was processing today's images.

Luckily he didn't wander far while I popped and grabbed the macro rig then spent ten minutes trying to avoid me ...
