Hi everyone,
The Solarchat Zoom is on Sunday at 18:00 UTC (please check local times).
Does anyone want to show us round their scopes, chat about a particular subject, ask about a burning question they have?
Please let me know
Kind regards
Alexandra

Re: July Solarchat Zoom 9th July 2023
I am planning to sign in.
I did my show and tell last summer so I don't think I have much to add, but I will look forward to what ever subjects are brought to the table.
Brian

Maybe a topic of conversion could be the development of solar cycle 25. The consensus cycle of 115 sunspots vs the McIntosh theory of 200-215 sunspots

Re: July Solarchat Zoom 9th July 2023
thank you for hosting Alexandra!
Natalie and I are at the Marsh House and I have been busy wrestling alligators out of the backyard and chasing off hogs.
I will be signing in to test our high-speed Internet to see if it is dependable enough to host future meetings from here.
We are out in the middle of nowhere but did find a provider who has one gigabit download and 250 Mb upload speeds, for a very hefty price.
The Internet at our other home in Atlanta is 10 Gb upload and download so it is always very smooth. We will see how this service does tomorrow.

Re: July Solarchat Zoom 9th July 2023
See you in the morning (4am) my time. Will be dark so bit hard to show you our Sun from Aussie. If its good I may be imaging Saturn or Jupiter but the Jetstream is impossible at the present.
I have a small issue that has developed in my EQ6 Pro that perhaps someone may help with.
Looking forward to to the meet.

Re: July Solarchat Zoom 9th July 2023
Hi all...
Just joining in on the internet speeds.
Living in the rural part of Ontario make for lots of wildlife and darker skies at night, but we are a long way from fiber. We had been on a DSL model through the telephone landline and it was at best proving 3-5mbps download and less than 1 upload.
We had a wireless service installed on Friday and a neighbor recommended it. The best part is there was a new tower installed a few miles from the house a couple of years ago and we have a direct line of site to it. Currently running 50-80mbps down and around 40 up....uploads to SolarChat happen as fast as I can click them.
The kids will be mad as the devil next time they are home...all through COVID they tried up upload assignments for university and they took ages

I really enjoyed the chat today. Totally informal just a bunch of Sunlovers having a natter! Highly recommended.
