Took a quick pic of the moon and then started the comet with a bunch of folks interested in what I was doing in a very public park! It was fun and I need to better learn using Pixinsight for color images as the Seestar images always debayer as very GREEN!!

Hi Warren,... I need to better learn using Pixinsight for color images as the Seestar images always debayer as very GREEN!!
That is very normal on RGB images. You need to do a White balance.
But I have to say that this is interesting as when I
do from time to time OSC images I never had this problem.
Can you put somewhere the raw image in order to play with it?
Thanks Rainer

Thanks Alexandra and Rainer! I imaged it between 8:15 - 9:00 EDT and it was probably 20 degrees above the horizon when I started and the sky was bright!
Rainer, I’ll try to a Star Aligned Master and a Comet Aligned Master to let you play with. My cousin who often uses his Seestar and processes it in PI says they are always very green out of the Seestar

Re: Night of the comet 3/14/2024
I finally figured out Pixinsight and then finished off in Photoshop where I felt comfortable combining the images (starless and stars only) and stretched the different histograms separately since many of the subs were taken at sunset so had a huge gradient which you can tell is at the bottom of this image.

Well done. In the latest PixInsight version there is a process called Gradient Correction and it is a pretty powerfull tool. Just test it and as a tip put Smooth at 0 for a start.

Re: Night of the comet 3/14/2024
I used the gradient correction and also GraXpert to correct my Seestar 12P/Pons-Brooks images. It works fine
