18 March 2024

Post by solar »

After a few days of rain and cloud I got about an hour and a half of imaging this morning.
Wanted to look at some prominences both DS and SS.
Also managed 50 minute animation of the departing SW fila-prom.
First image is Double Stack, second on of the same area is Single Stack.
Third image is SS and the 4th of the same area is DS.
DS images are with Lunt 100 DS and a ZWO432mm at F35.
SS images are with Vixen 130mm with a 90mm Coronado and the ZWO 432mm at F 49.5.

Beautiful work, Ralph. Lots of lovely details in these and the animation is top shelf…very nice.

The animation is so smooth, that prom gradually slithers across, it had me transfixed! :bow :hamster: :movie

Wonderful work Ralph. Somehow those two lower prominence images remind me of some species of feeding animal. Elephants? Mammoths or maybe an Aardvark!
